EDITOR'S NOTE

Here, the ylang-ylang flower takes centre stage, as it does on the island of Mohéli in the Comoros archipelago, where this star-shaped yellow flower flourishes alongside lushious vegetation. It has never been experienced this way: green, spicy, slightly woody, without languor or opulence.
